It has been reported that it is proposed to hold a demonstration and sit-in dharna by BANK RETIREES  at Jantar Mantar  New Delhi on 19th July 2013.  That day will be observed as DEMANDS DAY to press for the immediate implementation of various DEMANDS of the BANK RETIREES.   This action programme is being held under the banner of United Forum of Bank Retirees' Organizations (UFBRO).  The Dharna will be followed by a submission of a Memorandum to the Authorities in Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, New Delhi.    The members of the Retired Bank Officers' National Confederation have been informed that the programme is scheduled  to be as under:-:

Place : JANTAR  MANTAR, NEW DELHI.

Date   : 19-07-2013 – Friday.

Time  : 10.00 a. m. – Registration.

            11.00 a.m..–  Demonstration Begins

Up-to  01.00 p.m –   Slogans/Speeches/Press Media Meet  and submission of Memorandum.

Thereafter  Programme of Protest/Demonstration ends.

This action programme is to focus the attention of the concerned authorities and to get sympathy from the public and also like minded in support of our agitation to get rightful demands which are held just and equitable even by the Supreme Court of India.

Retired Bank Officers' National Confederation, along with All India Bank Retirees' Federation and All India Bank Retired Employees' Association,  had been making all out efforts to get the grievances of the bank retirees resolved with the assistance of Constituents of the United Forum of Bank Unions.   However, it is regrettable that neither the Indian Banks Association, Mumbai nor the Ministry of Finance, Government of India New Delhi have shown any concern to the problems of the bank retirees.   Aggrieved, the retired bankers are driven to seek justice at Courts after Courts all over India besides the Apex Court, New Delhi by Review Petitions/SLPs.   Numerous orders of the Courts pronounced in favour of the retirees are either not honored or delayed for implementation.

I feel this is high time for Retiree Bankers to unite and show their unity as the developments since the last 9th BPS have clearly shown that neither the IBA  nor the Ministry of Finance, GoI or even UFBU have shown any concern to the problems of the bank retirees.   Whether it was the case of 2nd Pension option to left over officers or 100 % DA neutralilsation,  retired senior officers had to run from pillar to post to get justice.   They had to literally move to Courts in different parts of the country to even get an hearing.  IBA, GoI and even UFBU tried to block their legitimate demands.    Even in 10th BPS talks, the demands of retiree bankers do not appear to have any priority.

The copy of the circular received at ours has called upon all retired affiliate  organisations, all bank retirees aligned or affiliated to various other retirees' organizations to participate in the programme as above in large numbers.   Affiliates /retirees are requested to inform the above office-bearers /activists (Particularly Sri R. D. Deshpande on Cell 098182 04632 / 011 2702 7473) about the participation (number from each affiliates/organizations/individuals).    It is reported that elaborate arrangements like obtaining permission from Police Authorities including security arrangements, erection of shamiana (tent), providing potable water, etc at the venue are under way.   However, the participants are requested to carry with them cap/hat, umbrella, water bottle, medicines and such other personal needs  in their own interest and convenience.

In view of the above, we too appeal to all the retired bankers to participate in the forthcoming Demand Day by reaching Jantar Mantar in large number.   AllBankingSolutions.com extends its full support to this move by senior bankers.
