 What  Should I Do to Reduce My Negative Marks in IBPS - CWE PO exam

 

 

 

 

IBPS has clearly indicated on its advertisements that there will be 0.25 negative marks for each wrong answer.  In such a situation, it becomes extremely difficult for the candidates as to how much risk they should take while attempting a question for which he is not sure about the answer.

 

Usually, the candidates adopt one of the following methods to tackle the situation :-
 

 

• Some candidates are always ready to take high risk and feel that their luck will be on their side and thus attempt all questions even if some of such questions or subjects they have never heard of.  

 

• Second category of candidates are those who are not ready to take any risk and they attempt only those questions for which they are 100% sure about the answers.  

 

• Third category of candidates are those who take take calculated risk and attempt  those questions for which they are not sure about the answer but have some knowledge to do the guess work.

 

 

We feel that first and second category candidates are likely to be losers in the exams.   Attempting all questions without even knowing head and tail for some of the questions is like firing the bullet when you are not even aware as to which side is the target.   In all probability you will either get net negative marks for such questions or it may be only marginal gain.

 

The second category of candidates are totally risk averse and thus will you are losing an opportunity to score some additional score by using your intelligence.

 

 

The third category of candidates are likely to gain some marks as they have used their intelligence in chosing some of the questions which can be attempted with some guess work.   Even if you will not gain in such a situation, you are probably not going to lose too much.
