Wage Revision -Frustrated Bankers
| Dipti Sahu says : "I don't understand why we are expecting a better wage revision. I request to all my friends working in different banks please leave the PSBs as soon as possible, because there is no respect for us, our efforts, risk taken by us and above all our talent and contribution" |

Girish Kalra says : "It is very shameful for us that we are not able to execute the settlement. We are humans & we have right equal to any Public Servant of the country but we are not able to identify our strength. First of all offer made to us showed that what IBA or Government think of us we are the most profit making industry in the country still we are neglected like anything. So I had a request to all of the bankers to think positively and start a movement Else our children, our family will had to pay. Kindly recognize our strength please ignore all the greedy leaders as they are more concerned about themselves, They don't have any care or respect for this industry most of them are retiring at 2 to 5 years and in this settlement they had insured there luxurious life. So I again request all of our readers and bankers if you want a respectful life wake up before all ends.." |

TC Sachan says : "NOW WE ALL SERVING BANKERS ARE IN CLEAR OPINION THAT OUR LEADERSHIP HAS FAILED TO CONVINCE THE IBA. EITHER THESE LEADERS HAVE LOST THEIR IDEOLOGY OR GRAVITY OF DISCUSSIONS EARLIER AGREED BY BOTH IBA AND UFBU. NOW THERE IS STRONG FEELING AMONG ALL BANKERS THAT SUCH RETIRED BANKERS HOLDING HIGH POSTS ON THE UNIONS AND ENJOYING THE BENEFITS FROM THE MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION OF THE MEMBERS. NOW EVERY BANKERS ON SERVICE HAVE BECOME TO THINK OVER IT THAT THESE SO CALLED RETIRED LEADERS ARE WATCHING INTEREST OF RETIREES OR GOING TO SHORTLY RETIRE THAT IS WHY THEY ARE GIVING SPECIAL EMPHASIS FOR PENSION FROM BACK DATE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THOSE WHO HAVE LEFT THE BANKS JOB ON THERE PERSONAL INTEREST AND HAVE ENJOYED FULL PAY AND PERKS FOR REMAINING SERVICE OR MAXIMUM FOR FIVE YEARS WITH OTHER FULL BENEFITS ,GRATUITY ETC. PERSONS WHO SOUGHT VRS MUST NOT BE GIVEN BENEFIT OF PENSION FROM BACK DATE SINCE THEY HAVE OPTED VRS ON THERE OWN CHOICE BUT THOSE PERSONS RETIRED ON SUPERANNUATION OF THE JOB MUST BE GIVEN BENEFIT OF PENSION SINCE THERE WAS NO OPTION FOR THESE PERSONS EXCEPT FUND. THUS THE PENSION BENEFIT MUST BE GIVEN FOR ONLY THESE RETIRIES AND NOT TO VRS RETIREES". |

Gunupuru Narayan Murty says : " If a person has worked for 30 years as a clerk and due to some obvious reasons not selected for promotion, don't you feel at the time of retirement should have get at least the scale of MMGS-II. Don't forget in all banks the initial job is still being done by clerk only and the officers are only checking it. The disparity in the pay scale, perquisites still huge. This should be minimized otherwise corruption in lower level can not be ruled out in future. Your front liner staff is completely demoralized and please do not contribute further. In war also infantry has got its own importance." |

Raghunath S says : "WHAT IS THE NECESSITY FOR THE UNION PEOPLE AND IBA TO MENTION TIME FRAME IN THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING THAT TOO BEING SIGNED IN FRONT OF THE CONCERNED OFFICER OF THE LABOUR COMMISSION WHEN EACH ONE OF THEM KNOW PRETTY WELL THAT THE SAME IS NOT GOING TO BE ADHERED TO". |

V. Krishnamurthy says : "First let me commend the efforts of the Unions for their achievements in making the stubborn bankers to relent to their demands. Running a Trade Union is not the same as it was 2 or 3 decades back. The Managements have become very professional and official unlike those days management where the employees were treated as family members and consideration was given. I only wish that IBA should realise that Banks are running because of the hard work of the officers/employees and they are making profits unlike the Government employees. When the government is able to give their employees a better pay why should not the IBA have a pragmatic approach in awarding a better pay for their employees. Unless the staff is happy the Bank would not get their best cooperation and progress. It is in their own interest that the Managements should think positively and come to a reasonable settlement without loss of time taking into consideration the wage structure remaining around other industry in the country. The bank employees have not been demanding anything off the mark." |

Rishabh Sharma says : "India is a poor country with vast forces. of unemployed and educated youth. On the other hand Indian banking industry is overburdened with unproductive loss making financing in government sponsored schemes that has to be write off periodically. This creates heavy pressure on bank’s profitability. As vast unemployed, educated young persons are available to do the job at present low salary structure (this is amply clear by huge no. of applications-36 lacs appli. for sbi clerks posts). Hence no wage revision is required. Staff leaving job can be tackled very easily with opening new fields for earning income/profit. Banks shall ask for big amount as security deposit (say Rs.1.00 Lac from clerks and Rs.2.00Lacs from officers) at the time of joining the Bank .And a bond shall be taken from new recruities that if they leave the job within 2 years they have to pay back the Bank the security amount. With economic growth and high wages offered in govt. jobs with comparatively very low work load and negligible risk and also good wages offered by pvt sector new recruitees are expected to get a better job and leave the Bank. With forfeiture of the security deposits Banks are expected to earn very handsome money and banks will get money to sink in govt. sponsored schemes. |

Anil Bohra says : "I STRONGLY REQUEST THAT THE POST OF SPECIAL ASTT WILL BE ABOLISHED. BECAUSE BANK USED THIS POST AS PER REQUIREMENT AS AN OFFICER AND OTHER TIME AS AWARD STAFF. WE SPL ASTT ARE NOT IN OFFICER CADER NOR AWARD STAFF AND IMPORTANT IS WE HAVE NOT GIVEN ANY SPECIAL MONETARY FACILITIES AND ANY OTHER PRIVILEGE SO THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SINGLE WINDOW OPERATOR AND SPL ASTT. SO KINDLY ABOLISH THIS POST AND GIVE A CHANCE TO SPL ASTT FOR PROMOTION WHO WANT PROMOTION AND OTHER POSTS ARE CONVERT IN SINGLE WINDOW OPERATOR". |

Suresh Kumar says : "
WAGE REVISION-IMPORTANT REVIEW
AND CONCERN" With reference to the Clerks, who shall be getting an allowances of Rs 1000/- per month for working on Computer, it has been termed as an allowance which shall be given alongwith some additional limited passing powers. WHY IS THIS SO???? The allowance so should be paid for working on Computers only and NOT for any passing power. In the past, the Clerk used to work on ledgers and now due to computerization the work load has increased and it is in favour of the bank. With a paltry amount, the potential work load shall be increased and even passing powers though limited shall pass the burden from the Officers to the Clerks who get a higher pay for doing the same work as their job role. Thus Clerks should not be given any passing power but be treated as a computer allowance only. If additional power is given , then additional allowance be added toRs.1000/- at par with other computer operators. The UNION should take a careful note of this as once this Pandora box is opened in future all Clerks shall be doing Officers work and getting LOWER Clerk salary at their cost and benefit only to the Bank. ALSO THIS SHOULD BE ADDED TO BASIC SALARY BUT THERE ARE STILL DOUBTS. Another MOST IMPORTANT point to be noted is that the effective date of this allowance is from 01.05.2010 and so the clerks shall lose this amount as arrears of nearly Rs.1000 multiplied by 29 months overdue= RS. 29,000/- PER EMPLOYEE. Again this loss is borne by employees. Also another stagnation increment has been requested upon!!! Will IBA look into this fact at such a late and crucial juncture. The UNION should demand and ensure that Senior Clerks should get a good reasonable stagnation increment!!Are the UNIONS LISTENING. Comrades, I request you through this forum to pass on the message to others and to your leadership, so they may act upon this fast and not be mere spectators. |
