DISCREPANCIES POINTED OUT BY READERS IN OUR ARREAR CALCULATOR

ATTENTION :  Our esteem readers have pointed out the above discrepancies in our arrear calculators.  We have already informed our readers that our Arrear Calculator is only tentative and there is no authentic or final word either from unions or from IBA.  Thus all these are merely conjectures.  We would like that our readers may continue to send the information.   We will try to assess each of such discrepancy and if found that there is a general consensus for the same or it is more logical or there is some authentic news, we will upgrade our Arrear Calculator.

We are sure our readers will appreciate our constraints and continue to provide the necessary inputs.

Mr. VP Murugeshan writes  (12/12/2009): "Sir, The arrears calculation EXCEL sheet shows CCA as a varying figure with a fixed percentage to basic without a MINIMUM and MAXIMUM ceiling. Hence the arrears calculated is wrong. Kindly correct the same if possible to include the MINIMUM and MAXIMUM ceilings."

Mr. Satnam Bhutani writes : " Your chart for tentative calculation of arrear chart shows a difference. In the settlement 2836 points merged this comes to 137 slabs but in the chart it shows 164 slabs merged.    There is also a difference in expected basic pay NOBO is showing basic pay on higher side while DA merged only 137 slabs. Further rate of DA comes @0.14% while your  chart is showing DA @ 0.18%. Please clarify. There is no detail about FPP when mostly officers are getting FPP."

Mr. KVS Shekar writes : "Mr Rajesh Nandan, :  I was going through the salary arrears worksheet version1 for Bank Officers. I think there is some mistake in formula for CCA. The maximum CCA amount at Kolkata is 540. Where ever the Basic pay is more than 13500 the CCA is calculating more than 540.  New HRA deduction rate is not given.  What about the pension load. Thanks for your chart"

Sanjay Natekar writes : I am  from Bank of Baroda present herewith a nearly accurate excel sheet for salary post 17.50 % hike.

Main Assumptions : (1)DA merger at 2836 points i.e. at 137 slabs.   (2)DA calculation : BASIC x 0.14 % x DA slabs.

I have come across several charts which are too much optimistic ones (showing a rise of more than 23 % in gross salary when the MOU itself is for 17.50 % !).     I feel my chart is the most realistic salary chart for officers based on 17.50 % MOU. Let us not forget that out of proposed rise of 17.50 % something will go towards medical, LTC/LFC, superannuation benefits etc. Hence I feel that the actual PAY SLIP rise will be lesser than 17.50 %.

Few months back UFBU had given some representation to Finance Ministry wherein on second page it is clearly mentioned that with 17.50 % hike it will not be possible to fix the starting scale beyond Rs.14000. Hence I feel that my chart is more realistic and practical. I personally wish we could get much more that what I have calculated in this chart.   Please be kind enough to publish this worksheet on your website."

SBH Valmikinagar writes : "We are very much thankful to you for updating the information at each and every stage on wage revision. It is highly apprciable work you are doing.  I would like to give some suggestions on arrears calculation sheet forwarded by you to more convinient and near to accuracy.

1) There is a maximum ceiling on CCA i.e., Rs.375/- at lowe
r CCA centres and Rs.540/- at higher CCA centres. This has to be taken care in programme.

2) Data entry should be allowed in existing CCA and HRA columns as many officers are transferred from Non CCA centres to CCA centres and vice versa during the period Nov 07 to Dec 09 & Some officers might be availed/ cancelled Leased accomdation in between.

3) Revised DA also calculated at existing rate per slab i.e., 0.18% which may not correct. Beacuase after merging certain points in Basic the new DA slab rate must be lower than the existing rate. It is evidenced in all our previous settlements. If our Unions clinched from the IBA for continuation of existing rate it is really great achievement.

I once again appreciate for the work you have done and request you to bring the above points to the notice of the concerned who prepared the areears calculation work sheet."

Soumitra Sarkar  : Your calculation sheet was well prepared but It would have been better id you had left two columns for FPP PQA or Project allowances as those fields are mandatory. Please incorporate them. I am sending the calculation sheet which I have got from my leaders.
There are some differences please go through and evaluate. "
