HOW TO PREPARE FOR TEST OF REASONING FOR BANK EXAMS

Test of Reasoning Abilities is usually considered as the most difficult and unpredictable tests by majority of the candidates appearing for either Probationary Officers test or even for Clerk Tests.  Earlier, this part of the test carried higher share, but in the CWE to be conducted by IBPS, Test of Reasoning will have an equal share of marks as other four papers.   However, it may carry higher share in case of tests conducted by private sector banks and banks not covered by CWE.

Most of the candidates find it difficult to judge as to how many questions they have attempted correctly in this Test specially the  questions which are based on statements, judgmental type of questions, questions based on inferences, assumption based questions etc. These questions always confuse the candidates who appear for the first time.

The questions asked in this paper can be broadly classified as "Verbal" and "Non Verbal" categories :-

VERBAL

Number Series

Alphabet Series

Test of Direction Sense

Coding-Decoding

Number Ranking

Arithmetical Reasoning

Problem on Age Calculation

Blood Relations

Analogy

Decision Making etc.

NON-VERBAL

Non Verbal Series

Relationship with other figure

Grouping Identical Figures

The higher level of test of reasoning is applicable for bank probationary officers and some other  exams.  The candidates should be careful in practicing only the level of the questions which are as per the level of exam they intend to appear.
